Dear ALPFA Friends:

Welcome to our ALPFA New Jersey Chapter website!

As we near the end of the summer 2008, I am happy to announce that the ALPFA New Jersey Chapter is well positioned for continued growth and success. As I reflected back on the relatively short history of the ALPFA New Jersey Chapter, I realized how much this chapter has grown since I first joined the Board in September of 2005. At that time, we had approximately 150 members and only 1 corporate sponsor. Today, we have over 490 members making us the 4th largest ALPFA chapter in the country. We also now have active ALPFA student chapters at Rutgers-Newark University and Seton Hall University with more ALPFA student chapters expected to be launched in the coming months, including at William Paterson University. In addition, our corporate partner list has grown exponentially, which is a testament to the relationships we have fostered and the value we continue to deliver to our members, our corporate partners, and the community.

Over the past three years, we’ve developed and reinforced relationships with new and existing corporate partners and community organizations, recruited talented and dedicated Board/Committee members, and continued to focus on hosting quality events designed to create opportunities and add value to our members. It's been truly a team effort! It is important to note that despite our growth, success, and accomplishments, we still have challenges and opportunities to improve the quality of our communications/events, increase awareness about ALPFA, increase membership, increase corporate partnerships, improve membership retention, and recruit future leaders for our New Jersey Chapter.

All of our past and future growth, success, and accomplishments would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of my executive team and their committees. I would like to thank all of the volunteers that serve on the ALPFA New Jersey Professional Board, the Committees, and the Student Chapter Boards for the countless hours that they devote to ALPFA. It is because of their leadership, hard work, commitment, passion, and dedication that the ALPFA New Jersey Chapter continues to experience tremendous growth and success. This talented and diverse team work hard to make sure we continue to provide our members, corporate partners, and the community with high quality programs that address their diverse interests and needs.

We are excited that you are part of our ALPFA New Jersey Chapter and truly value your active membership. Please continue to spread the word about ALPFA with all of your friends, family, and co-workers. We welcome the involvement of all who share the mission, values and principles of our professional organization. The great thing about ALPFA is that it brings together professionals and students and gives us the opportunity to mentor one another and develop each other as leaders. As the ALPFA New Jersey Chapter continues to grow, we must recruit new volunteers to serve on the board and committees. We are always looking for passionate, motivated individuals who want to improve their professional development and wish to have a positive impact on the lives of young professionals and students. As an active member, you can develop or enhance your leadership, project management, relationship management, public speaking, networking, and team building skills in a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment. You will also have an opportunity to give back to the community and serve as a mentor to young professionals and students.

As I begin my final few months as President, I am very excited about the events we have planned for the remainder of 2008 with themes focused on leadership, mentoring, networking, professional development, and community service. My executive team and I promise to work hard to continue to provide you with quality events to develop/reinforce the skills that are needed to be successful in today’s Corporate America.
