"This was my first time at an ALPFA National Convention. It was a memorable event, both motivating and inspiring. New relationships were made and existing ones were strengthened. The networking has provided personal guidance and professional nurturing to look beyond the horizon. One of the most wonderful lessons I learned is that 'I am not alone.' Finding and developing a strong network of Latinos who are dealing with the same issues as I am is incredibly powerful. I have gained a renewed sense a vision and purpose and an enriched perspective which can only help me as both a leader and a human being. The classroom training has helped me understand what I am doing right, what I was doing wrong, and what I need to do. I look forward to attending future events and continuing to embrace our diversity."
says Maria M. Gonzalez-Diaz

"I have to admit that when I first heard about ALPFA, I didn't think it was for me since I'm not a Latina. A fellow coworker of mine, who was an active member of the ALPFA New Jersey Board, convinced me to attend the 2006 ALPFA Convention in Fort Worth, TX. She introduced me to everyone she knew, including the Board members. I immediately felt welcomed into the ALPFA family and most importantly, felt the leadership, teamwork and passion of the ALPFA New Jersey Board. Since then, I became the Deputy Chair of Communications and have been able assist the Board in making positive and impactful contributions towards the success of our chapter, while developing my own professional and personal skills."
says Sharon Gonzalez

"The 2006 ALPFA convention experience was great. I was very impressed with the quality and caliber of the key note speakers, as well as the presenters at various workshops and seminars. My experience at the convention was motivating and rewarding. I was able to make new friends and network with other professionals who attended the convention. After the convention I was convinced that you do not have to be a Latino to benefit from being a member of ALPFA. This organization truly promotes inclusiveness and professional growth. I experienced it first hand, and I look forward to the 2007 convention!"
says Dusyant Patel

"What isn't there to love about the 2006 ALPFA Convention? You get the chance to get away from work although you probably do more work while you are there. The difference is that you enjoy it. The professional development sessions and networking with people from all across the Nation and countless companies is the greatest benefit to your career. On a personal level, the fun activities held and sense of Familia & inclusiveness is priceless. There is no place like ALPFA."
says Yesenia Cabrera

"Looking Beyond the Horizon" one can see that the future looks bright and full of promise. The breadth and depth of talent at the participant and corporate levels represented diversity at its best. Much credit and thanks to the ALPFA members that made the 2006 National Convention all happen."
says Andres Reyes

"This year's convention once again proved why ALPFA is the leading professional association for Latinos in the accounting and finance industry. The enthusiasm was evident by the great turnout for all the events, including workshops, career fair and the many networking opportunities with our colleagues. This was my fourth convention and thus far the most enjoyable. I look forward to next year's convention in Orlando.."
says Diego Paredes

"I have been an ALPFA member since 1999, when it was the American Association of Hispanic Certified Public Accountants (AAHCPA). I have met many great individuals along the way, who are still very active within the organization. Every event is an opportunity to reconnect with these individuals, reminisce about old times, and meet new and interesting people. ALPFA is filled with talented Latinos and non-Latinos, who are very driven and motivated, and they are truly an inspiration. I make every attempt to bring my co-workers and friends into this organization to help them see what I see, an organization dedicated to preserving the Latino culture while helping you grow as an individual and a professional."
says Jessica Cisneros

"As a member of ALPFA for only a short period of time, I have been introduced to many great opportunities. Being a member of this prestigious organization has enhanced my network, given me the chance to attend events that cater to my career goals as well as personal success, and has helped me greatly with my job search. Graduating this summer, I hope I am able to give back to ALPFA once I get my career in motion; it really is an incredible organization and I am grateful for having been part of it in my undergraduate experience."
says Dahianna Acosta
